Maa Abbayi (2017)
For the protagonist ‘abbai’ (Sree Vishnu), life is all about taking care of his elder sister and doting parents until they are all killed in a mysterious bomb blast. The plot follows this youngster going all out to avenge their deaths.
Things start off on a rather conventional note with the ‘abbai’ on a mission to woo his neighbour ‘ammudu’ (Chitra Shukla), who he calls ‘yedurinti coffee’ out of endearment. With absolutely no chemistry between the two, the audience is left wondering how, why and just when the girl falls in love with him.
Things go on normal with the usual Telugu family developments involving the sister’s engagement. It’s only after a shopping trip, when the family visits a temple that the big bang arrives — a bomb blast that kills many, including the family members of the protagonist.
This despair turns into anger as the ‘abbai’ decides to avenge the death of his family. Then the plot builds up as he connects the dots and finally nabbed the masterminds behind the blasts.
