Jallikattu (2019)
Kalan Varkey, a butcher, faces a lot of trouble when a buffalo he was supposed to slaughter goes astray and causes chaos in a remote village. Jallikattu is a 2019 Indian Malayalam-language independent action thriller film which garnered wide acclaim in many film festivals from Toronto to Busan. It was selected as the Indian entry for the Best International Feature Film at the 93rd Academy Awards. The movie is widely regarded as one of the defining movies of the New Wave Movement.
