Hope Aur Hum (2018) *MQ*

Set in present day, suburban city, ‘Hope Aur Hum’ is a simple, human story of a family. Nagesh (Naseeruddin Shah) earns the family’s bread and butter with a space-consuming out-of-order photocopy machine that consistently raises space and room issues for his granddaughter, Tanu. His younger son Nitin (Naveen Kasturia), who has a penchant for showing up uninformed, finds a love interest under surprising consequences. Simultaneously, Anurag (Kabir Sajid), Nagesh’s grandson, encounters an interesting series of events at his Nani’s house away from the city; a series of events he is rather secretive about. Each of their stories would perhaps reveal how each member in the family responds to change and how hope has brightened up their ‘hum’.
