Aloo Chaat (2009)
Aloo Chaat is just like the roadside Indian fast food it is named after – tangy, tasty and kind of naughty.Robby Grewal’s film, set completely in Delhi, is a simplified tale of a pair of lovers’ overcoming of religious divisions, but it is quite a fun journey for the viewer. The film, like many predecessors with well-meaning subjects that lost their way through multiple songs interjected unimaginatively at crucial moments of story telling, but to the credit of Grewal (whose debut film Samay – When Time Strikes was an interesting thriller), he sticks to the storyline with a firm grip, letting his screenplay do the talking.
